DJ RECONN- born of Dominican and American parents in December of 1980 and raised in Miami, New York, and Ft. Lauderdale. At the age of 15 he saved his money to purchase his first set of turntables, which started him on the path to the life of a DJ.
The first job as a DJ was when Reconn was 16. He began his career as a part-time on-air DJ while working at an underground station in Ft. Lauderdale. At 18 he moved to Orlando to attend The University of Central Florida in 1999, where he began to focus on making a career in the music business. While attending college he founded the first ever hip-hop oriented student organization on UCF campus (The Elements). In his early years as a college student DJ RECONN became a sought after street promoter for many clubs around Orlando as well as major record labels (DEF JAM, RAWKUS).
In addition he started working at 102JAMZ as a promotions assistant and on-air mixer. In 2000 DJ RECONN co-founded Official Entertainment a company that handles many different facets of urban entertainment.
In the next couple of years, DJ Reconn would have DJed in such places as Georgia, New York, Nevada, Cayman Islands, and Jamaica. He worked for Slip-N-Slide records, 91.1 JAMS (WJFP / WJCB) (Ft. Pierce, FL.), 93.5 FM (Real Deal Radio), (94.5 FM RIDDIMS). In 2006 DJ RECONN returned to Orlando and began working back at 102 JAMZ as an on-air mixer and promotions assistant.
